"I’ve lived in Nottingham all of my life, except for a brief sojourn in Spain, but that’s another story! I’ve always enjoyed Light Night, being an avid fan of all Nottinghamshire events and Nottinghamshire in general. So, I was really intrigued when I heard that this year's Light Night would have the added bonus of Elemental Force.  Not knowing what to expect, I booked our tickets from Experience Nottinghamshire and off we went. Wow! To start with the fire garden really blew our socks off, to see such creativity with fire and sculpture was amazing, and watching the rest of the audience discovering something new as they explored, was equally as fab.  Then we walked up to the Castle, something I have done on so many occasions in the past, but this time with more anticipation than ever. The music started and we were off, we were transported back through Nottinghamshire’s history, ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ as we saw something new – we tried to guess what was coming next, and found ourselves excitedly shouting ‘lace’ ‘Raleigh’ ‘football’ ‘Goose Fair’ …. All those things which really have made Nottinghamshire great, and make me proud to say I come from Nottingham. Well done to all involved – I certainly hope that we have more and more events like this in the future.  It’s a winner, and anything to raise the profile of this great county gets my vote. We have already booked our tickets for Newark Castle and we may even go to Chatsworth too!"
