You’ll remember days like these .... We’re all looking forward to warm sunny days and great days out and there’s no where better to start than the Nottinghamshire County Show taking place at the Newark Showground on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May 2013. This is a great family day out with something for everyone to enjoy including spectacular displays on the ground and in the air, demonstrations of all kinds, lots of hands-on activities and of course the chance to see quality animals from huge bulls to tiny chicks. Foodies will love the Food Experience Marquee where they can shop for a wide selection of local produce, get loads of information and recipe tips and enjoy cookery demonstrations from visiting chefs, including TV chef Dean Edwards. Shoppers have over 500 stands to choose from in order to buy everything from accessories and bags to equine and pet products. Get active in the SportsZone and watch the amazing “Savage Skills” performing daring mountain bike stunts, wander around the vintage and classic vehicles, be thrilled by falconry, gun dogs and birds of prey and marvel at the floral art and flower shows. Best of all, this weekend is about meeting the animals.  Watch the showjumping, heavy horse parades and private driving, see the cattle, sheep, pigs and goats, and have a go at bottle feeding lambs and learning so much more in the Living Farm. There are plenty of places to stop for refreshments, to listen to music and simply pause and relax.  Advance tickets are available by contacting the Showground on 01636 705796 or online at www.nottinghamshirecountyshow.com but why not become a member and enjoy all the benefits of discounted rates, access to members only pavilions and patios and free and fast track admission to the show on both days.
