The National Water Sports Centre, located at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham, is reinvigorating its visitor offer thanks to new management by Serco.

In 2013 it has launched new exciting activities on the popular site. Enjoy the experience of riding a two-wheeled, self-balanced Segway, or if the traditional ‘two wheels’ are more appealing then why not use the cycle hire service to explore the outdoors on a sprightly bike ride around the regatta lake or one of the many cycle routes. For an adrenaline filled adventure, take on the 700m activity course that was once used by the Armed Forces and members of the British Raft Team for training, and to further experience life as one of the military elite, why not try your hand at ECombat on the all-weather battlefield.

In Easter 2014, expect to see the launch of a new outdoor family zone. Plans are underway to further develop the site and will include a sky trail, mini golf, new café and play ground.

Visitors can also enjoy all the traditional water sport activities on offer including canoeing, kayaking, sailing, power boating, white water rafting and wakeboarding.

Whether looking for a family day out or a memorable corporate team building day, the National Water Sports Centre offers something for all ages and abilities, set within stunning, extensive parkland on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre.

There is also the option to stay on site with a range of overnight options to suit most individuals or groups, so it has never been easier to have a weekend away.

The 18 acre campsite welcomes vans, tents and campers and offers excellent facilities from an on-site shower and electrical hook-ups to a sandpit, outdoor table tennis, football, netball and volleyball area for the kids.

Alternatively the accommodation rooms within Lake View main building include 69 rooms, a well-equipped gym, bar and restaurant and the option to be treated to a morning breakfast. From en-suite singles to six bed dorm rooms, there is a wide selection of rooms available to suit any group’s needs. Development is underway to open a brand new 60 station Life fitness gym in January 2014, and if joined before 31st October, the gym membership fee is just £15 per month - for life!

The National Water Sports Centre also hosts a number of spectator water sports events throughout the year, from swimming to rowing to powerboats. http://www.nwscnotts.com/events/
