When I heard Maluwa Holistic Therapies had not only opened a salon (in addition to their events business) but also had reflexology on the menu, I was over to see them in a flash. In fact my feet were so excited they couldn't get there fast enough themselves. Now what better way to relax after exploring the sights of Nottinghamshire or exploring the shops of Nottingham city centre than a luxurious spa treatment? Even better, how about one that soothes every inch of your feet, ankles and more? I can't recommend reflexology enough. Having only had it previously overseas whilst on holiday, with a non-English speaking therapist, I knew I loved the treatment but I didn't know the extent of all the extra health benefits. Anne and her team put on a warm welcome to their gorgeous new location overlooking The Park area of Nottingham, with a warm drink and a smile as soon as Mum and I set foot in the door. It was a Saturday morning and we'd both had a long week. Luckily there was a parking right outside on the drive so we arrived pretty stress free and ready for a pamper! After being reassured there was also chocolate in the treatment room, I had to warn Anne that I may never leave! Mum went first, leaving me to browse the list of Indian head massage, aromatherapy, manicures and more with my feet up and cuppa on the sofas. Yes, I was already planning my next visit. Mum was particularly intrigued because she suffers from arthritis and a painful bunion and had heard it would be great for pain relief. Mum reappeared 40 minutes later feeling like she was floating on air and with a list of useful recommendations on how to keep relieving her aches and pains with natural remedies she's taken up and grateful for since visiting. So it was my turn! I jumped on the couch, apologised for the state of my poor neglected feet, and laid back. Immediately my therapist picked up on the tension I carry in my face, neck and shoulders, how can they tell that from my feet? As explained, everything's connected and our feet carry the burden of our daily life. After a further 40 minutes of sheer bliss, interesting discoveries about my tired out body and intoxicating aromas from the oils, I was also left floating on a cloud. As recommended by Anne, I went on to drink lots of water through the day to get the best result from my treatment and I definitely felt the benefit. So for a great girly treat, an essential stress buster and a little piece of heaven, please visit Maluwa as soon as you can: you won't be disappointed by the quality of treatments and beautiful location. With regular offers available too, they are definitely a spa worth keeping your eye on whenever you are in Notts. In Notts We Love to Pamper You!
