There are numerous events taking place across the city and county on New Year’s Eve, promising the public an extravagant night to remember. Make sure you welcome in 2014 with a bang!
Start the New Year in style, from fireworks delight at one of Nottingham’s most prestigious heritage sites, to a night of dinner and dancing at various venues, a comedy spectacular promising big laughs from top comedians, or something truly terrifying and completely different.
Here are just a few of the top events you could take part in, if you have not yet planned your special night out.
New Year’s Eve at Nottingham Castle - FREE admission
The notorious Castle grounds will play host to live music and entertainment, as well as an onsite bar, hot drinks and food stalls. The FREE event has a limited capacity so people will be admitted on a first come basis from 9pm. It will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display from Castle Green at midnight which will no doubt be the perfect finale to your night.

Sinfonia Viva, Royal Concert Hall
Enjoy music to your ears with a seasonal blend of popular classics and family hits including Offenbach, Strauss and Tchaikovsky. With plenty of opportunities for audience participation, this is the place to start off your New Year's celebrations. Why not head on over to the Castle afterwards to prolong your amazing night out?

New Year's Eve at The Glee Club Nottingham
Book in advance and be guaranteed an atmospheric night down at the Waterfront. With fantastic live stand-up comedy from Andrew Stanley, Charlie Baker, Stuart Mitchell and John Gordillo, as well as a late bar and disco, you’re in for an extra special night.

New Year’s Eve Special at Just the Tonic, The Cornerhouse
Enjoy a night of laughter at Just the Tonic which is renowned for being the perfect way to enter the New Year. Before the venue transforms into a popular night club giving you and your friends the chance to dance the night away, enjoy the company of three top comedians.

Time: Doors open at 6:45pm, the show starts at 8pm and finishes at 10:30pm
Over Night Ghost Hunt, Galleries of Justice
The last few places are available to celebrate New Year’s Eve with a difference this year with Dusk Till Dawn Events. If you dare, take part in an overnight ghost hunt and enjoy a much needed glass of mulled wine and a mince pie at Nottingham’s old courthouse and gaol which is said to have the most poltergeist activity in the UK.

New Year’s Eve Masquerade Party at Hart’s Nottingham
Be treated to an indulgent six-course menu, live entertainment from Just Ben and a champagne toast at midnight. With the last few spaces available, make sure to book now with your prepayment to guarantee a fantastic New Year’s to remember.

Gala Dinner Dance at Ye Olde Bell, Retford, Nottinghamshire
Welcome in 2014 in luxury and style! Wine and dine with ‘walk around jazz’ during dinner from Rhythm de Luxe, then dance the night away to the Steve Love Band and a disco.
