As a little break from tradition, we are offering you a bumper selection of 'Things To Do' this week. Not only have we got the weekend in mind, but New Year is fast approaching!! So here's a quick look at what's happening across Nottinghamshire to see in 2014.   New Year's Eve 2013 at Nottingham Castle There is one very popular way that many choose to see in the New Year across Nottinghamshire and this year is no different. Nottingham Castle draws in the crowds year on year, with its fireworks display as well as fresh food, drinks and entertainment. What better way to see in the new year than in the grounds of Nottingham's historic landmark? Entry to the castle grounds is FREE. Arrive early to avoid disappointment! The event is in full swing between 9pm - 12.30pm. There is expected to be a high demand for places so if you are not lucky enough to get a spot, you can always take your place in the Old Market Square and take in the fireworks from there. The view will be fantastic so you won't miss a thing. Just The Tonic New Year's Eve Special Just The Tonic are serving up a delightful New Year's event this year, making it hard for you to go anywhere else! The lineup is fantastic as ever, with great comedic acts taking to the stage. Add a sprinkle of joy and a dash of merriment with drinks, food and an after-party until the early hours, and you have a perfect night to see in the new year with. Be sure to book in advance by contacting the guys at Just The Tonic NOW! Doors open at 6.45pm and the show kicks off at 8pm. New Year's Eve at Hart's Hotel Hart's Hotel has a New Year double header this year, guaranteeing you will be spoilt for choice in one of the city's finest over-night locations. If you haven't already booked a room, why not do it now and make a night of it in Notts? The Park bar is hosting its New Year's event with live entertainment from Tom Wardle and other acts. Or, visit their Masquerade Party, with a 6 course menu, and live entertainment from Just Ben, all from 8pm. This is followed by a toast at midnight and the usual New Year festivities. New Year's Eve at The Sanctuary Bar and Restaurant A classy venue for any occasion, New Year promises to be done in style at The Sanctuary Bar and Restaurant in Radcliffe On Trent. With a Great Gatsby themed evening, as well as plenty of drinks, food and a live DJ, the night will be a long one, taking in the countdown and going into the early hours of January 1st. New Year's Eve 2013 at Nottingham Contemporary Cafe Bar Contemporary, located within the Nottingham Contemporary gallery, is set to host its own New Year celebrations this year. You can expect a glass of bubbly upon your arrival as well as FREE food from 9pm. Live entertainment will be on offer throughout the evening, with live music from Hallouminati, The Gorgeous Chans and Truth & Lies DJ Ex-Friendly and Joff. Tickets are priced at £15 for early bird entries, and £20 for a standard ticket.
