Crowne Plaza Nottingham opens city's only luxury spa

The Crowne Plaza Nottingham hotel has opened the doors to the City’s only luxury spa following a £1.3m refurbishment programme.

Urban Escape is the result of an 11 month overhaul of its previous health club which was forced to close following a fire. The transformation from being a health and fitness club to becoming an indulgent spa with gymnasium is set to be welcome news to both local users and the hotel’s guests.

General Manager at the Crowne Plaza Nottingham hotel, David Clements said: “We wanted to create wow factor at the hotel and I am confident that we have delivered on this with the creation of a spa that ticks all the right boxes.  After considerable research, we felt that there was a gap in the market and by introducing an indulgent spa to the City centre this would give us a two-pronged approach to attracting custom.  The move has allowed us to capitalise on our position as a leading hotelier that now offers a USP for our guests but that also has a unique offering for a loyal local market with our range of membership packages.”

The introduction of Urban Escape brings with it an indoor heated swimming pool, steam room, ice station, gymnasium, relaxation room and four treatment rooms whose Urban Rooms therapists use the latest in exclusive ESPA products and treatments.

The makeover is clear from the moment you walk through the doors with a stylish and aesthetic welcome at the new reception area setting the scene for the customer experience.  The hotel has transformed all customer touch-points in relation to the spa and the new name and logo reflects the serene ambience they have created.

Throughout the two floors of the spa, the stylish walls, modern styling, and relaxing colour tones follow through the scheme.  Bringing the outdoors inside, the wall to wall mural of the sea overlooking the pool plays contrast to the dark walls that surround it.  The fully-equipped gymnasium also adopts the mural concept with bespoke designed artwork.
