Outselling Jamie’s Comfort Food, Guy Martin’s My Autobiography, Boris Johnson’s The Churchill Factor and Zoella Girl Online, The Nottingham Cook Book has quickly become the city’s best-selling book since its publication at the end of November. In just over a fortnight since its release many stockists, which include all of the businesses featured in the book, have had to re-stock after sell-outs.  The Nottingham Tourism Centre has had particularly positive feedback. Erin Huckle, PR Manager at Experience Nottinghamshire said: “To keep up with demand we've placed a second order and potentially will need to do a third.  It has been really popular and we think it will remain so beyond Christmas and all year round.  It’s a great piece of Nottingham merchandise and the fact that people have been buying it from outside of Nottingham is a testimony to how good the book is”. Anthony Cooper, buyer at Waterstones said: “The Nottingham Cook Book is selling three times more than the latest Jamie Oliver book, which is the best-selling cook book in the country at the moment.  It is also doing better than Zoella Girl Online, which is the UK’s overall best-seller and record breaker for fastest selling debut”. With a diverse collection of recipes and stories from the city’s finest restaurants, cafes, delis, farm shops, food and drink producers and sellers, the book champions local produce and celebrates the vibrant independent food and drink scene. Recipes include Sat Bains beef cheek in oysters, Fred Hallam’s mussels in Starkey’s Bramley juice, Perkins roast venison haunch, The Larder on Goosegate’s savoury cheesecake with Colwick Cheese, The Riverbank’s roast scallops, Gonalston Farm Shop’s cote de boeuf, Tiffin Tea House’s butterscotch cake, J T Beedham butchers’ award winning pork porkolt dish and many more. The Nottingham Cook Book retails at just £14.95 and is available from all of the local businesses featured in the book as well as Waterstones, select local book and gift shops, and online at www.amazon.co.uk.
