Time for tea

Whether the sun is shining or the skies are grey, whether you’re taking things slow or rushing through the day, there is always time for tea. In Nottingham, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to a cuppa, especially thanks to Lee Rosy’s on Broad Street in Hockley, which offers more than 100 varieties of tea – from black and green tea blends to flavoured rooibos, herb and fruit teas. So it is that I found myself visiting Lee Rosy’s twice in one week for long overdue catch-ups with two different friends. The first day was gloriously sunny and we chose an outside table to enjoy the warm weather, I had a delicious apricot black tea, which was fragrant and fruity. On my second visit, just a few days later, it was raining heavily, so we took shelter in the cosy cafe, which is full of wooden tables and spread over two floors. It’s a very welcoming place to while away a few hours over a cup of tea and some delicious food. They have an impressive selection of cakes, plus we also opted for a lighter lunch option of some fresh hommus, guacamole and pitta bread to go with our tea. One of my favourite things about this amazing tea emporium is that all of the tea varieties are also available to take away in reasonably priced loose leaf bags, ideal for brewing a delicious pot at home. They also sell all sorts of tea brewing equipment, including infusers, teapots and strainers, making it ideal for gifts for anyone who loves tea.
