Critically acclaimed and created by former Royal Ballet dancer Jonathan Watkins, 1984 is a hugely anticipated ballet which comes to Nottingham from the 29th September - 3rd October 2015. The story centralises around the protagonist Winston Smith, who spends his days working at the Ministry of Truth with Big Brother looking over his shoulder, forcing him to lead a life within which there is no time for love or romance. That is until Winston rebels against the system when he meets Julia, the love of his life. From there, a story unfolds, told to the audience through enchanting dance, music and superb choreography. Based on a story by the iconic George Orwell and incorporating a new musical score by Tony nominated Composer Alex Baranowski and played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, 1984 will tug at your heart strings and have you hooked from start to finish. To celebrate the arrival of 1984 to Nottingham, we've teamed up with the Theatre Royal to offer one lucky person the chance to win two tickets to see the ballet on opening night, Tuesday 29th September 2015.
