Potters and ceramic artists from Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland and France will join home grown talent for the Earth and Fire International Ceramic at Rufford Abbey. On 24th, 25th and 26th June, over a hundred outdoor market stalls will line the historic grounds of Rufford Abbey Country Park for one of the UK's most anticipated pottery events. download (5) The annual fair attracts collectors, gallery owners, enthusiasts and the general public alike, who flock to meet and talk to the potters selling everything from garden planters and sculptures to teapots and egg cups.   For those who have always  wanted get their hands on a potter’s wheel, a highlight of this year’s Earth and Fire will be Thomas Benirschke's fabulous four-handed Potter’s wheel, where members of the public can have a go and help create some fabulous pots - whatever your ability. Visitors will also be able see the master potters in action, with free demonstrations taking place throughout the day and the ‘Potters Games’, which will see the experts compete against each other in teams to tests their skills. Alongside the fair, an exhibition from Pollie and Garry Uttley in the on site art gallery will be launched. Indian Inspiration showcases potters Pollie and Garry's vibrant clay works, drawn from their experience in India and the tribal textiles they fell in love with. Rufford Abbey Country Park is one of the main country pRufford Abbeyarks within the Sherwood Forest area. Made up of a former Cistercian Monastery, a country house and extensive grounds, the estate makes a beautiful backdrop for what promises to be a wonderful weekend.
