Back in November and December, we ran a very exciting competition to win one of five breaks here in Nottinghamshire. The winner of the City Penthouse Suite Stay for two scooped an evening meal at the Hart's Restaurant and, as the name of the prize suggests, a penthouse stay at St James Hotel. Today we’re excited to hear from the winner of this amazing stay – Natasha. Let’s see how she got on. I have just returned from a weekend away in Nottingham, thanks to winning Experience Nottinghamshire’s Christmas prize which included a night in the Penthouse Suite at St James’ Hotel and a dinner at Hart's Restaurant. The Penthouse Suite at St James Hotel was amazing, and we felt like celebrities in this huge room! There were 2 sofas, a dining table – even a piano! But the best part for me was the huge Jacuzzi bath with TV on the wall. Definitely pure luxury! Glad rags on, we made our way to Hart's Restaurant, just a 2 minute stroll from the hotel. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar, before being shown to our table. Each course was beautifully presented, a taste bud explosion! Our waitress was very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure our glasses were always topped with Prosecco! The next morning we tucked in to a hearty breakfast, before setting out to explore the city. Just across the road is Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery, we enjoyed the immaculate gardens, and stopped for a refreshment in the tea rooms with panoramic views of the city. After this relaxing time, we visited the Museum of Nottingham Life, and loved reminiscing over the displays of toys that we remembered from our childhood. It was a fabulous weekend away, if only every weekend could be spent in this amazing Penthouse Suite!
