On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June, Nottingham will play host to the annual weekend cycling festival Cycle Live Nottingham. The weekend will see visitors gather at Victoria Embankment to take part and watch an exciting range of cycling activities. Because of the nature of this event, local residents of the embankment and the cycling routes should expect a higher number of cyclists to be on the roads throughout this weekend, as well as temporary road closures.
As a result of the event there are road closures planned for the Victoria Embankment as follows:
- Closure of the Victoria Embankment Road from 05:00hrs on Saturday 25th June until 20:00hrs on Sunday 26th
- Closure of Wilford Grove from 09:00hrs on Friday 24th June until 20:00hrs on Sunday 26th
- Bunbury Street (section south of Woodward Street)
- Wilford Crescent East (section south of Woodward Street)
- Fraser Road (section south of Bunbury Street junction)
- Green Street and Felton Road.
- The Maid Marian (25 miles) 1000 riders expected, leaving from 10am:
- The Robin Hood (50 miles) 2000 riders expected, leaving from 8am:
- The Friar Tuck (75 miles) 500 riders expected, leaving from 7.30am:
- The ‘Little John’ (100 miles) 1000 riders expected, leaving from 7am:
- The Sheriff (125 miles) 100 riders expected, leaving from 6.30am:
- At Harby, straight on to Waltham Lane, Eastwell, Stathern, Long Lane, Wood Lane, Blevoir Road, Woolsthorpe Road, Redmile, Barkestone (re-join 50/75/100 mile routes)
- At Halam, Oxton Road (west) to Oxton, B6386 to Calverton, Main Street, George’s Lane, Dorket Head, B684, Nottingham Road, Woodborough, Lingwood Lane, Green lane, Lambley, Park Lane, Lambley Road, Lowdham (rejoin 50/75/100 mile)
