The team spent a leisurely lunchtime devouring the delicious summer set menu at Bill's Nottingham.

Kinga with steak

Kinga

I decided to go for the roasted plum tomato and red pepper soup starter and chargrilled minute steak lightly batted out, with watercress, garlic butter and skin on fries. Both the starter and main course were delicious, although my heart was stolen by the steak. It was very tender, juicy, rich with garlic butter, and extremely tasty – one of the tastier steaks I’ve ever had. I was also happy to discover that there are quite a few PokeStops just outside the restaurant and someone set up lure modules on all of them! So, were sitting at our table and the Pokémon were coming to us. The best two Pokémon I caught were a 520CP Drowzee and 740CP Cloyster. Bill’s Nottingham is a really good spot in the city centre to catch them all.

Desert!

Sarah

Allotment Salad followed by Seabass, washed down with Peach and Mint Iced Tea! Not your regular salad at all, it was beautifully presented, with a unique swirl of cucumber through the middle and lightly drizzled in a mustard dressing. It was fresh, crunchy and completely satisfying even though I felt like I’d gone for the super-food healthy option. Yummy. Moving onto my main the seabass was gorgeous too, done to a melt-in-your-mouth perfection on top of a bed of tangy tomato salsa. Both courses amounted to a perfect portion size for lunch time and are highly recommended. I really wanted to try all of the cocktails on the list including the Aperol & Prosecco but as I had to go back to the office I thought better of it – so the Peach & Mint Iced Tea was a delicious substitute! Desserts Our office team motto of ‘little pickers wear big knickers’ went completely out of the window today as we were unable to resist sharing three deserts.  Cinnamon Doughnuts, Lemon Meringue Cheesecake in a Glass and Chocolate Brownie were ordered and on the table before we knew it. All three were amazing but we crowned the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake the overall winner, so zesty and indulgent and not a bit sickly.

Elisia with mexican chicken

Elisia
The ambience, decor and character of Bills make it a restaurant I always enjoy returning to. I decided to try the affordably priced set menu and opted for chargrilled chicken tostada to start followed by honey roasted aubergine, courgette and sweet peppers. Both were beautifully presented and the starter was Mexican magic- full of flavour and incredibly moreish. It’s not very often I am willing to forgo meat with my main meal but the honey roasted aubergine, courgette and sweet peppers complemented my starter perfectly and was extremely satisfying and flavoursome. As Kinga has already mentioned Bills is a Pokémon hotspot and was the place to be to catch great Pokémon with unbelievably high CP’s; this added to an already great experience.

Watermelon cooler

I copied the excellent taste of my fellow pescetarian Sarah and ordered exactly the same she did! The salad starter was as pretty as a picture and tasted as good as it looked with lots of fresh ingredients and a tangy dressing. Afterwards, the grilled seabass fillet main was the perfect accompaniment -the fish was light and crispy, presented on a bed of well seasoned spinach and a chunky tomato salsa. Out of our party of desserts, the cinnamon doughnuts were my favourite, deliciously soft and served alongside lashings of hot chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries. Star of the show however had to be the watermelon, peach and raspberry juice, which came with with a smiley wedge of watermelon on the side. All in all it was the perfect leisurely lunch -  so good, in fact, that Kinga and I went to back for second helpings a week later!
