The Vintage Carnival bringing all things vintage back to Nottingham Racecourse on Saturday 3rd September and we've got a pair of tickets up for grabs!
The huge one-day event is hosted by the time-travelling team behind Lou Lou’s Vintage Fairs, the most popular vintage fair in the country and winner of the UK's Best Vintage Fair 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Expect to find vintage shopping, delicious street food, real ales and cocktails, classic cars, live music, hair and beauty, carnival rides, dance lessons, children’s activities and more.
The Vintage Marketplace
From the 1920s to the 1980s, we’ve gathered together the best vintage traders from around the country in clothing, home, jewellery, collectibles and crafts.
Food and Drink
Pizza oven, Ice cream from a vintage caravan, bacon-covered onion rings and chocolate-dipped churros . Vendors will be dishing up fantastic street food from quirky vehicles in the food forecourt.
Afternoon Tea
Stop for an elegant afternoon tea in the grandstand tearoom, provided by the renowned ‘Secret Cake Club’ eat ‘cake tapas’, where diners can sample six cakes on one plate.
Live Music and Entertainment
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Stage features ‘The Discoveries’ and ‘The Hicksville Bombers’ along as well as music from DJ’s.
Grab a deckchair at The Pavilion Stage and enjoy vintage vocalists and harmony trios, including ‘The Bowker Singers’ ‘The Bonito Sisters’ and DJs Major Swing and Kitty. Dance duo Red and Ginger will be teaching lindy hop and jive, accompanied by Kal’s Kats nine-piece swing band.
There will also be a best-dressed customer competition, where the snappiest dresser of the day will win a bundle of prizes.
Vintage Hair and Beauty
Beehives, victory rolls and pin curls, Chez Titine Salon will running the pop up salon, giving customers vintage style hair and beauty makeovers. Boney Jack Barbers will be on hand for the blokes too, and at 2:30 there will be a demonstration of how to get the perfect victory rolls.
Classic Vehicle Exhibition
With more than 50 vintage vehicles on show around the racecourse, visitors will see beautiful classic cars, caravans and motorbikes, such as a 1929 Humber, ‘50s Chevrolets, and ‘60s Minis and Morris Minors.
Activities and Attractions
Punky Hoops will be teaching us how to hula-hoop and crafts workshops include letterpress printing, making floral headbands and hand-sewing.
