Knowing the time and thought that the lovely folks at Griddle & Shake put into their menu, we couldn't possibly refuse when they asked us to come and try out the range of new desserts they've concocted... Here are our thoughts from a very tasty afternoon. IMG_20170525_142939 Sophie Despite having never visited the Griddle & Shake before, I had heard word that their famous tempah burgers were delicious, and with our visit falling around lunch time I had long decided to forgo my usual desk lunch in favour of a small feast. It can be tough to find fast food if you're vegetarian - something quick, satisfying and with a little flair. Luckily with Griddle & Shake you can choose the bun, the burger and add all the toppings you like, so I managed to recreate a classic burger with american cheese, gherkins, lettuce and relish. The tempah was tasty and full of texture - plus it didn't fall apart with one bite as some veggie burgers do! But enough about burgers, it was the dessert menu that we were there for! With a selection  of ice-cream, brownies, sauces and waffles, the possibilities to customise tastes, textures and flavours are endless. IMG_20170525_152001 I opted for a salted caramel brownie, topped with honeycomb ice-cream and raspberry sauce. It was quite the decadent treat and absolutely delicious! The brownie was filling but oh I could have gone back for more of the homemade ice cream! If you're looking for a reasonably priced, quick, scrumptious lunch I really recommend Griddle & Shake. The staff who served us were really lovely, obviously passionate about creating good food and making sure each customer had a pleasant and satisfying visit. I also thought it was great to hear that all of Griddle & Shake's desserts are cooked on the premises, use locally sourced ingredients, and are served gluten free for no extra cost. Thank you Griddle & Shake, I shall definitely be back again. Kinga On a sunny Thursday afternoon, we decided to visit Griddle & Shake and try their new dessert menu. We were greeted by friendly staff who presented the new menu to us and showed us to the table. We really wanted to sit inside one of the famous cow sheds and since there was a table available there we allowed ourselves in. Sophie decided to start with the vegan tempah burger before digging into Griddle & Shake’s desserts. I on the other hand made up my mind and went straight for desserts. After a few minutes of deliberations, I decided to get the Double Trouble which is a golden waffle topped with any brownie, from classic chocolate fudge brownie, raspberry and white chocolate blondie to salted caramel and peanut fudge brownie, along with not one but two scoops of ice cream and any sauce. I went for the raspberry and white chocolate brownie on top of my waffle, picked vanilla and raspberry ice-cream and topped it with raspberry sauce – finger licking delicious! IMG_20170525_151932 I really enjoyed the brownie and the ice-cream. You can definitely taste the difference between Griddle & Shake’s homemade ice-cream and the ice-cream that comes pre-made in other restaurants. I really recommend stopping by to get a scoop or two if you don’t have enough time to sit down for the whole meal or dessert. If you’re having Double Trouble make sure you leave plenty of space after your burger because it’s a hearty portion. All in all, Griddle & Shake never disappoints, thank you for having us.
