Whether you want to get out into nature, see some thrilling sport, or enjoy beers with friends, there’s a great mix of events in Nottingham this weekend. We concocted a mix of our favourite events below, but there are a lot more options on our What’s On pages, or check out the Things To Do section of our website.
A special shout out goes to the Great Gatsby Ball at Muthu Clumber Park Hotel, which looks like a fabulous affair for any lovers of the swing era. Admire the pretty village of Thrumpton at their Flower & Garden Festival, which lets you tour Thrumpton Hall’s magnificent gardens. Hear about how to live sustainably at eco-community Hockerton Housing Project and check out their brilliant earth sheltered housing complex. Or, if you fancy a giggle take a tour with The Sheriff on the Nutty Notts Comedy Tour on Saturday.
We love to see and hear what you have been up to in Nottinghamshire so don’t forget you can use #lovenotts to share the love and connect with us via our Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!

There’s only one way to experience the atmosphere and excitement of the match, and that’s to be there! Tickets start at just £5 so snap them up now!
Exhibitions
There is a top quality range of exhibitions happening throughout the county at the moment, so we thought we’d take a moment in this week’s What’s On to highlight them. The Grand Tour: Season Three continues, but there’s just a few weeks left to make your own arty tour. Exhibitions include Her Grace Land at Chatsworth, The House of Fame at Nottingham Contemporary, Half in Shadow: Half in Light at The Harley Gallery, and fringe exhibition Scaling the Sublime at Nottingham Lakeside Arts.
Over at New Art Exchange, you can see photographic exhibition Zanele Muholi: Somnyama Ngonyama, Hail the Dark Lioness, which poses multiple political questions in stunning portraits, while The Workhouse in Southwell is celebrating women’s political history with Face of Change: Votes for Women.
Tackling the history of weaponry is Cutting Edge: The Changing Tools of War at Newark’s National Civil War Centre, and the history of voting is covered at National Justice Museum’s Right to Vote exhibition.
Finally, we wish good luck to all the students graduating at Trent University and are looking forward to the ever imaginative Art and Design Degree Show, which closes on Sunday 10 June.
