Luckily, there are still many awesome events coming up in Nottinghamshire, and this weekend is no exception. Dessert meets artistry at the spectacular Newstead Abbey this weekend, as some of the country’s best chefs show off their skills with a huge range of demonstrations, including appearances from the likes of Molly Robbins of Channel 4 Extreme Cake Makers, GBBO 2017 winner Sophie Faldo, and chocolatier extraordinaire Paul Young.

Throughout the summer visitors have been enjoying the Hall’s amazing maze of maize – an interactive labyrinth full of twists, riddles and wrong turns - but this weekend the suspense is turned up a notch. Lost in the maze is Farmer Hatton, though locals fear there is something more sinister lurking in its depths. Will you dare to venture in and face the fiendish beings within?

One of the UK’s top festivals for classical music, the Southwell Music Festival kicks off this week and promises a host of concerts across several gorgeous locations in the pretty market town of Southwell. This year’s highlights include Nottingham’s own Sheku Kanneh-Mason performing at the grand Southwell Minster on Saturday 25th, along with his sister Konyah Kanneh-Mason on Thursday 23rd. With daily concerts and evening recitals, along with lots of free fringe performances, this is a week not to be missed for any fan of classical music.
