Merchants Restaurant | Visit nottinghamshire

Blending opulence with modern simplicity, Merchant's Restaurant is the statement piece of the Lace Market Hotel, offering contemporary fine-dining and some deliciously creative dishes. Situated in an impressive Georgian building which was previously a doctors residence, the hotel has elegant period features such as original sash windows, fireplaces and a quirky layout. After being completely restored and modernised in recent years, both the Lace Market Hotel and the Merchants Restaurant are now full of artistic character and contemporary design.

The hotel is situated in Nottingham’s iconic Lace Market, which is widely known from its historic lace making roots, as well as being a hub for Robin Hood activity in the past. Today the lace factories have been transformed into stunning restaurants, shops, studios, and flats and along with the neighbouring district of Hockley this area is known as Nottingham’s Creative Quarter. The oldest part of the city, dating back to the 9th century, there is an incredible amount of history to be discovered in this area. In fact, just across the road from Merchants you'll find Shire Hall - a gaol and courtroom that dates back hundreds of years. To find out more about The Lace Market's history, don't miss out the Robin Hood Town Tour which takes place every Saturday at 2pm.

Every dish on the menu at Merchants is carefully planned and tailored by Chef Luke Holland using locally sourced and seasonal produce. The friendly and attentive team deliver creative and modern British cooking which will definitely tickle your taste buds and leave you satisfied. Lunch is served every day and dinner is available on Fridays and Saturdays, with the hotel’s Saint Bar open from 11am until late for cocktails and other refreshing beverages. A real treat however is the Merchants afternoon tea - and with the current theme being Alice In Wonderland this makes for an creative, elegant, and truly Instagrammable meal.

Lunch selection spans from deliciously spiced soup of the day served with crusty but soft bread, crispy ham with pickled carrot and lovage beautifully placed on your plate, and citrus cured salmon infused with orange yogurt and radish. You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to the main course. Choose from salted duck leg comfortably placed on a generous portion of apricot couscous (complete with shallots and sesame for extra flavour!), tempura pollock with saffron, cockles, parsley and samphire, or the classic vegetarian option - a mushroom risotto with white truffle, crispy onion decorated with mascarpone.

Like the Lace Market itself, Merchants is charming, peaceful and elegant. If you’re a fan of creative fine dining, you’re sure to have a great time and a meal to remember.

I like this style, I think it will always be relevant, both in terms of interior and kitchen. Therefore, I especially thought through all the details in my restaurant before it opened. And I started with interior fit out https://antonovich-design.ae/fit-out.html It helped me a lot with all the questions related to the initial stages and design.
