Medieval Myths and Legends Weekend at Bolsover Castle

A legendary experience awaits you and your family this May at Bolsover Castle. Watch the medieval knights in live combat, enroll in the knight school training by their very own knight Sir Cuss and see exciting displays of Medieval falconry. There will also be a massive medieval camp to explore, full of crafts and trades. It's the perfect way for budding historians to learn more about medieval myths and legends and the truth behind them by experiencing it all for themselves.

Princess and Pirate Weekend at Gulliver's Kingdom

Get ready for a princess and pirate takeover at Gulliver's Kingdom, Matlock. Roll up! Roll up! The Magnificent Spiegeltent will be arriving in Nottingham this Saturday, ready for 15 fun-filled days of shows, workshops, activities and more.

This beautiful, century-old travelling dance hall, made of wood and complete with ornate decoration and mirrors, will host a packed schedule of great events this May, including music, circus, cabaret, theatre, comedy and burlesque, with something for the entire family, plus food and drink.

Its opening weekend will see eight incredible multicultural and family-friendly delights such as the African Drumming Workshop (learn to play the African djembe drum and find out more about uplifting and energising traditional African rhythms), the Bhangra Dance Workshop (learn high-energy Bhangra dance moves and understand how the dances tell stories) Johnny and the Raindrops (exciting and original live music for rock stars big and small) and much more.

What better way to spend a lazy Sunday than head to an antiques fair to see what unique vintage gems you can unearth? Now in its 6th year and a firm fixture on the Antiques calendar, the Antiques Fest at Southwell Racecourse has something for everyone. There's a large indoor Grandstand bursting with antiques, collectables & vintage items, and a fabulous outdoor Antiques Market to make the most of the clear weather we've been promised.

The team Golding Young & Mawer will be on hand all weekend doing valuations and advising visitors who are looking to value or sell their own items. There will be delicious food and top class coffees and homemade cakes from Mildred & Jones - the perfect relaxing weekend day out.
