1. Plant Hunters Fair at Southwell Minster

Enjoy this Spring Plant Hunters' Fair at Southwell Minster and Palace Garden with a brilliant line up of 20 wonderful nurseries and garden artisans.

Where better to get inspiration for your garden than at this great new spring plant fair? The event offers the opportunity to visit a brilliant line-up of specialist nurseries from near and far to get your gardening season off to a great start.

The plants are lovingly grown by these specialist nurseries who will bring a great range of perennials, shrubs, alpines, spring bulbs, rare species, old heritage varieties and up to the minute new varieties for a wide range of garden situations from hot sun to cool shade. These enthusiastic plants people are on hand to give straightforward advice on choosing and growing the right plants for your garden.

2. Nottingham Panthers v Manchester Storm

Catch The Nottingham Panthers play Manchester Storm at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.

The Nottingham Panthers are the only professional ice hockey team in the East Midlands. 3. St Patrick's Day

Friday 17 March | Old Market Square | 11.30am – 4.30pm | FREE event

The annual Nottingham St Patrick’s Day event returns to the city centre, celebrating the city and region’s vibrant Irish community and descendants.

Head to Old Market Square to enjoy a range of Irish and Irish-inspired live music and culture on stage including the Louie Walsh Band.

Other events include the Claire Regan Academy of Irish Dance and the Nottingham Irish Set Dancers.

4. Mother's Day at Binks Yard

5. Zoe Lyons: Bald Ambition Tour

Sunday 19th March | Canalhouse | 7pm | £16 (+ booking fee)

Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple of years by having what can best be described as a monumental midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really didn't end well. Along the way her hair decided the best thing to do was abandon ship. It ain't easy being a middle aged woman: try doing it with a combover.

Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny side of all these twists and turns. It's time to sell the silly car and try and put the wheels back on her life.
