On stage

Nottingham formed psychedelic art-pop sextet Midnight Rodeo broke out in 2022 with 3 singles on Brighton’s Fat Cat Records, accompanied by a relentless touring schedule around the UK, with trips to Europe, two sold-out hometown shows and prodigious slots at festivals such as The Great Escape, Dot to Dot & Kendal Calling.

Their sound is unique in its combination of a powerful groove laden rhythm section, alongside jangly guitars, theremin-esque synths, booming organs all held together with the ethereal, honeyed vocals of frontwoman Maddy Chamberlain.  Krauty & Latin-esque grooves are juxtaposed with powerful psych-pop garage floor-fillers, hypnotic and chaotic in equal measure.

About 'No Half Measures'

In the summer of 2022 a few women gathered in a quirky little micropub called the Barrel Drop. While enjoying a beer or two they pondered on whether there was a group in existence for women in Nottingham to meet up and appreciate beer together. There wasn’t. And so, then there was 'No Half Measures'. From humble beginnings as an informal collective of women beer lovers, the group slowly established itself, using WhatsApp to organise meet ups and grow organically through word of mouth and a mutual love for all things beer.

Fast forward a few months and the group brewed their first beer in collaboration with Liquid Light for International Women’s Day 2023. Around that time, Castle Rock Brewery was hosting its second IWD open brew day, to create ‘Crystal Clear’ in collaboration with Brewster’s Brewery. And it was there that the two groups met.

Here in Nottingham we are very lucky to be surrounded by great pubs and a thriving beer scene; even more so because a few women identified a gap within it and took it upon themselves to fill it. This beer is a nod to the group. A thank you for existing, and for providing a safe and welcoming space for women to come together and enjoy beer.
