1. Games Day at Green’s Windmill

Friday 31 July 2026 | Green’s Windmill and Science Centre | Free event

Visit Green's Windmill and Science Centre on Fridays in the summer holidays for games at the mill! A variety of games on offer each week, fun for children and adults alike! Games will be in the millyard, science centre, activity room and community garden. There's no need to book, just turn up. Runs from 10am-4pm. This is a FREE event, but donations to Green's Windmill Trust are welcome.


2. Robin Hood Festival

Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 August 2026 | Sherwood Forest | Free entry, parking charges apply

Sherwood Forest are celebrating the 40th Robin Hood Festival in 2026, with another sensational summer of spectacular arena shows and performances and displays to delight visitors of all ages. From Medieval jousting shows to combat displays, drama, comedy, storytelling and music of the age of Robin and his Merry Band, the Festival has become a must-see experience for thousands of visitors every year, many travelling from overseas to walk among the Ancient Oak trees of Sherwood at Festival time.

The Robin Hood Festival continues Saturday 8 - Sunday 9 August and Saturday 29 – Bank Holiday Monday 31 August.


3. RNB MANIA | Nottingham’s R&B Festival

4. The Hundred: Trent Rockets vs Sunrisers Leeds

The Hundred's mix of world-class cricket and blockbuster entertainment returns to Trent Bridge once again this summer. Trent Bridge will play host to four men’s and women’s double-headers as The Hundred returns for a sixth season to the venue officially recognised as offering the finest experience for attendees, with Sunrisers Leeds visiting Nottingham on Saturday 2 August. Midlands rivals Birmingham Phoenix visit Trent Bridge on Wednesday 5 August, before Trent Rockets’ home group-stage campaign concludes with a clash against Southern Brave on Monday 10 August.


5. Plant Hunters’ Fair

Sunday 2 August 2026 | Southwell Minster | £2 suggested donation

If you’ve got green thumbs and are a true plant lover, head to Southwell this weekend for the Plant Hunters’ Fair. The fair will have a wide selection of plants for sale from nurseries throughout the country including many rare species. This popular fair is situated in the beautiful gardens of The Archbishop's Palace next to Southwell Minster.
