FREE movie screening with snacks and drinks included.
Join Ladybrook Community Centre for a special free screening of Sauvages, an animated film about a young girl's journey to rescue a baby orangutan from loggers in the Bornean rainforest.
The film explores themes of deforestation, corporate land grabs, palm oil production and Indigenous land rights. It is rated PG and is suitable for families and young people. The film duration is 87 minutes.
This screening is part of the Planet Over Profit campaign, which calls for stronger laws to hold companies accountable when their actions harm people and the environment.
After the film there will be a short, relaxed discussion and an opportunity for anyone who would like to take action by emailing their MP about the campaign. This is completely optional and simply a chance to talk about the issues raised in the film.
What to expect
Arrival and refreshments from 1:45pm
Film starts at 2:00pm
Short discussion and optional campaign action after the film
Event ends around 4:30pm
Snacks and drinks will be provided free of charge.
This is a free event but tickets are required so they know how many people to expect.
