The best of the region’s contemporary artists and designers will be showcasing their work, from jewellery and ceramics prints and textiles at the popular Christmas Art and Food Market at Welbeck on 27 - 29 November 2015. Combined with the Food Market featuring 20 stalls in the Courtyard, alongside the award winning Welbeck Farm Shop, the three day event has become established as an important Christmas shopping destination and one of the best events in the region to discover emerging and established artists since it began 15 years ago. The Harley Gallery is presenting an exciting selection of 56 designer-makers from across the region to showcase a stunning selection of crafts and designs that make for unusual and fantastic Christmas gifts. The Harley Studios will also open up during the market for visitors to explore. It's a great chance to meet the makers and buy directly from the studio. Susan Sherrit, Harley Gallery manager said: "The exhibitor list is utterly bursting with new talent, with 30 new exhibitors showing alongside some more familiar faces.  Applications to exhibit came thick and fast this year which made the process of awarding stalls incredibly difficult.  The resulting selection of 56 exhibitors provides a snapshot of the very best contemporary craft and design being produced in the area. " New exhibitors to look out for include Olivier Leger, whose exceptional work first came to the attention of Harley when he entered the Open Exhibition earlier this year and scooped two of the top prizes including the Judges Prize and People’s Prize.  He will be showing his mind-bogglingly detailed pen and ink drawings alongside a collection of prints. Award winning maker, Louise Mary Muttitt is a South Derbyshire silversmith and jeweller whose work has been showcased at prolific art fairs including the Goldsmith’s Fair in London and shown on prestigious galleries including the V&A. Susan added: "We were delighted when Louise expressed an interest in showing at the Harley Christmas Art Market.  Her work is sensuous, sculptural and utterly beautiful!" The food market organised by the ever-popular Welbeck Farm Shop will include stalls from a mouthwatering array of food producers in the Courtyard. Winner of the UK’s FARMA award for the ‘best on farm butchery 2015’, Welbeck Farm Shop is dedicated to finding the very finest artisan produce. The food market promises to leave visitors spoilt for choice with over 20 stalls offering tasty delights, including Welbeck Abbey Brewery, Welbeck Bakehouse, The School of Artisan Food, Boutique Aromatique, Stichelton and Sundlaug Coffee, which are all based at Welbeck. The event takes place in the newly re-landscaped Courtyard, The Harley Gallery, Welbeck Farm Shop and The Harley Studios. Visitors are advised to arrive early with the market opening at 10am each day. Parking and entry is free.
