Nottingham is the UK's Festival City this October, hosting more festivals than any other UK city!  Here's just a few of the highlights that we're looking forward to! Spiegeltent Spiegel Tent 2 The Spiegeltent is a 100 year old travelling European dance hall, bar and entertainment salon. The beautiful mirrored tent has spent its life touring glamorous locations all over the world and will be landing in the Old Market Square this October. The Spiegeltent will be an intimate stage for Russell HowardMatt Richardson and the Glee Club Comedy Spectacular, as well as host to a carnival of cabaret, burlesque, panto, circus skills shows. The circular central stage allows the entire audience of the tent a close view of performances and the beautiful red velvet draped ceiling, stained glass windows, private booths and gorgeous period lighting create a fantastic atmosphere inside. Goose Fair Goose fair 14 - Low Res Goose Fair is one of Europe's largest travelling fairs with a history that dates back more than 700 years.  The legendary fair transforms the Forest Recreation Ground form 5th-9th October with over 500 Roller Coasters, Water Rides, Giant Wheels, Bombers, Dodgems, Twists, Waltzers and Miamis - as well the Nottingham tradition of mushy peas! The Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival October 2015 (159) Nottingham CAMRA's ever popular annual festival will once again be held at Nottingham Castle in 2016, with well over 1,000 different real ales and over 200 real ciders on offer plus live entertainment on the Victorian Bandstand. Oktoberfest People in tent-2 Nottingham Oktoberfest brings the German celebration to the city in a giant marquee on the Forest Recreation Ground. Sample frothy Bavarian beer and other German specialities while a traditional band play live music. Film and Music Festivals RB - HH 105 Mayhem Film Festival returns to Broadway Cinema for it's 12th year, showcasing the best in horror, sci-fi and cult cinema, through feature films, short films and special events. Aimed at both the film industry and business sector, The International Microfilm Festival will be exploring on the world of online, short form content (microfilms) with a variety of training based workshops. Rockingham Festival will be held at Nottingham Trent University this year,  delivering three days of some of the best hard rock music from around the world while the Hockley Hustle - springboard of Jake Bugg and Saint Raymond - will see over 250 acts take over venues in Nottingham's Creative Quarter, all in the name of charitable causes. Robin Hood Pageant Robin Hood Pagent 2015 - credit Experience Nottinghamshire (150) The grounds of Nottingham Castle will be transformed into a medieval village encampment complete to host amazing live jousting tournaments and combat displays. Meet costumed characters from the 12th century and try your hand at medieval crafts, watch falconry and practice wood carving, table weaving and fletching. GameCity Festival Gamecity Nottingham will become the capital city of videogames once again, with more new games per square-foot than anywhere else in the world. Visitors will also be invited to join in with a free game of Sheriff’s Gauntlet across the city.
