Ultimate BowieThe Palace Theatre

https://youtu.be/vWSlqCGThJ4 Friday 19th May The world has gone quite Bowie crazy in the year since his passing, with people of all ages pulling out the Think White Duke’s back catalogue to reminisce about glitter make up, platform boots and youthful days in the surreal seventies. For those wondering if a tribute act could ever live up to Ziggy’s star presence, with Ultimate Bowie you might be surprised. Ed Blaney not only looks the part, but also has quite the knack for Bowie’s charmingly impish warble and will take you from Aladdin Sane to Superstar.

Lara Favaretto & Wu Tsang Exhibition OpeningNottingham Contemporary

lara web 2_0 Friday 19th May Something a little unusual has been creeping around Nottingham Contemporary of late... On a grey day you could be mistaken in blaming the shortcomings of the great British weather for the moody fog which has sporadically shrouded the gallery, or even (as many have reportedly feared) the result of a fire, being a gallery of innovative art and ideas however, it was always likely to be something a little more avant-garde. This weekend international artists Lara Favaretto and Wu Tsang open their respective exhibitions, and as always it’s set to be a night of intriguing art and great music. Tickets are free but booking is advised, and don’t forget to get there early for a free cocktail!
