2. Robin Hood Half Marathon 2023

Get your running shoes ready because Nottingham's favorite running festival is back on Sunday, September 24th. This event has a rich history dating back to 1981 when the first Robin Hood runners hit the streets. Since then, it has become a cherished tradition for thousands of runners nationwide. In the past decade alone, over 100,000 participants have taken on the challenging 13.1-mile course, proudly collecting their well-deserved finishers' medals. What makes this year even more special is the festival's commitment to giving back. Goldline Events, the organizers, are thrilled to announce their partnership with more charities than ever before. Fourteen incredible charity partners, including Cancer Research UK, Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre, YMCA, and Footprints, invite runners to make every step count by raising vital funds. Visit the Race village at Victoria Embankment to enjoy food stalls and entertainment, with cheerleaders and bands there is plenty to enjoy plus i also doubles as the Start/FInish Line! Check the marathon route to see where you would most like to cheer on the runners.

Sheku's rise to fame was swift, from winning the 2016 BBC Young Musician competition to performing at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle in 2018, captivating nearly two billion viewers worldwide. Now, he returns to Nottinghamshire in a special concert at the stunning Southwell Minster. Joining Sheku is his long-time collaborator, Brazilian guitarist Plínio Fernandes. Together, they will deliver a duet performance featuring stunning Cuban music, soul-stirring Brazilian tunes, and flamboyant Argentine tangos. What an excellent opportunity to witness the first-ever cellist to reach the Top 10 in the UK official album chart with his 2020 album "Elgar".
