The Centre is a brand-new place of interest, which is housed in a wonderful, converted Victorian reservoir with fantastic views of the local area.

Explore the Solar System with a bear named Ted, and his companion Plant, learning about the things we find there and how they affect us.
Ted’s Space Adventure is an ideal introduction to the wonders of the Solar System, and features interactivity, music and rhyme, the show is a must for pre-school children!
Following on from this show, our presenter will lead you through a night sky story, specifically aimed at inquisitive young minds.

Join Astronaut George on an exciting adventure in our full-dome Planetarium show aimed at under 5’s.
The perfect introduction to space, George investigates the best planet to live on and the dangers lurking on the surface of other planets in our Solar System. Will he find any alien friends to play with? Join us for this fun interplanetary adventure!
Following on from this show, our presenter will lead you through the constellations in the sky using the Planetarium dome to locate and identify key features of the night sky.

“Distant Worlds — Alien Life?” is a beautiful planetarium film exploring one of the most enduring questions of humankind — are we alone?
For millennia our ancestors watched the stars, questioning the origin and nature of what they saw. Still today we ask these questions, knowing that the Universe is a vast place filled with billions and billions of stars and planets — Yet, Earth is the only planet we know for sure to be inhabited.
Aimed at teen/adult audiences. Please note that under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Not suitable for children 3 and under.
How To Book A Visit:
When you book a Planetarium show, you also get to explore our in house and visiting exhibitions and take the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments in our comfortable café.
All visits must be booked online in advance, we cannot take bookings on site at Sherwood Observatory
