1. Nottingham Puppet Festival 2026 City Centre Day

Saturday 27 June 2026 | 10.30am – 4.30pm | Nottingham City Centre | Free event

This Saturday the Nottingham Puppet Festival will be taking over the streets with free performances and walkabouts stretching across Nottingham City Centre. Encounter a gentle, giant Mountain Hare leaping above the crowds, the vibrant colors of Kantaben the Roller Bird soaring through the festival skies, and kinetic sculptures including the four-metre-tall Worker Bee. Families can catch recurring shows throughout the day, including the charming bicycle-based storytelling of Penny and the Far Thing and the chaotic fun of the Wild Beasts of Silly.

The Nottingham Puppet Festival runs from Saturday 27 June – Sunday 5 July. With puppetry performances from local, national and international artists, and small and large-scale puppetry also taking to the streets, the festival will present workshops, talks and screenings from key figures in the puppetry world. 2. Proms in the Park

Saturday 27 June 2026 | 12.30pm – 9pm | Bridgford Park | Free event

The award-winning Proms in the Park returns to Bridgford Park in West Bridgford with Spice Girls Experience headlining the annual event in conjunction with Armed Forces Day. Performing the biggest hits, from the iconic ‘Wannabe’ to fan favourite ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, are you ready to Spice up your life with some real girl power? Enjoy a full day of live music and entertainment, and dance and sing along to crowd-pleasing performances from a variety of talented local groups and artists, including Nottingham Concert Band, Nottingham Youth Band, Mansfield District Corps of Drums and Lady Bay Soul Collective.

During this weekend, events in aid of the Armed Forces will also be held in Worksop and Newark.


3. World Cup Fanzone: England vs Panama

Following a hugely successful opening for the 2024 European Championships, the Nest is all set to welcome England fans for every match of the Three Lions' 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
