Nottingham’s National Justice Museum is one of the true jewels in the city’s attractions. Not only is it unique, fascinating, and full of atmosphere, but best of all, it is authentically creepy. Having visited a few times I was aware of some of the horrifying things that have happened there over the centuries, so I should have realised what I was letting myself in for by booking on one of their Fright Nights.

Most of us have heard the news by now that a whopping seven Nottinghamshire attractions made travel guide publisher Lonely Planet’s top 500 travel experiences in the UK. We’re feeling pretty smug about being recognised by such a large-scale, well-trusted publisher, and the broad range of attractions identified (from museums and nature reserves to heritage sites and pubs) is testament to the wonderful variety of what’s on offer here. 

Hoping to uncover hidden talents as wine connoisseurs, Visit Nottinghamshire headed over to the family-run Hanwell Wine Estate to try out their intriguing Vineyard Experience.  

The weather has been very kind to us recently, so we were excited to venture into the heart of the University of Nottingham’s Park Campus, where Bramleys Brasserie in the De Vere Orchard Hotel is nestled. It was the perfect day for a picnic-themed afternoon tea; the sun was shining, it was a Friday afternoon and perhaps most importantly, we were feeling quite peckish!
