Upon the 10 second countdown the scoreboard dropped to the stage only lifting to reveal the glitzy STEPS, and then, boom, they were straight in with the hits and of course those famous dance moves. I don’t think we stopped singing and dancing all evening; just a joy to have fun with friends once again and to see so many people happy and enjoying themselves.

From start to finish this latest adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Mark Gatiss makes effort to invoke a truer version of the novel by Charles Dickens than most. The frightful story is brought to life with a mixture of practical and special effects to immerse you in a night of haunting and ghoulish horror as Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

On a sunny Saturday October afternoon, we decided to venture into North Nottinghamshire to experience the popular Dino Kingdom event that every one of our friends had been roaring about, I mean raving about. Held at the picturesque Thoresby Park, Dino Kingdom stomped into North Notts and took over a portion of the 1000-acre English countryside.

Many of us take the story of Robin Hood and his connection to Nottingham and the wider region for granted, as part of the local furniture. We all know the stories (or at least so we think).
