Fish & Chips

About

The Cods Scallops is a fine fish and chip shop offering up to 20 species of fish and shellfish a day, despite being furthest from the coast!

Launched in 2011 by chef owner John Molnar, The Cods Scallops has sailed from strength to strength, winning many top accolades including Best Chippy Pie in the UK and most recently ‘The Best Fish & Chip Shop in the UK’ in the National Fish & Chip Awards.

Known for its award-winning food, the menu boasts over 20 species of fish and seafood. The tasty offerings also include many vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as beef dripping chips on a Monday and regular vegetarian and gluten free days on the first Monday and Tuesday of every month.

The shop has an impressive wet fish counter with plenty to choose from, which can be bought to take home, or cooked fresh to order by professional chefs.

The restaurant & takeaway is fully licensed so you can enjoy a chilled beer with your batter or Champagne with your oysters. If you are wanting something extra special the Coravin wine system allows you to try prestige wines by the glass with your meal.

Little Tiddlers are well catered for with a children’s meal deal including drink, main, pudding and an activity pack.

The business is passionate about serving the best quality, sustainable fish and chips. Nearly all its produce is sustainable and all packaging is fully recyclable.

The Cods Scallops also helps the community by sponsoring local youth sports teams, opening the restaurant to serve free meals to disadvantaged families and the elderly. Regularly donating free food to the homeless shelter. Plus, money raised from the sale of thermal bags supports the Fishermans Mission charity. It also cares about its crew giving them every Sunday and Christmas to New Year off and free private healthcare! It’s a company with heart and sole.
