Monday 21 August 2023 to Sunday 27 August 2023
Venue: Creswell Crags
Times: 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm
£4 per child (all children must be accompanied by an adult) - Recommended for ages 5 plus.
Explore the different ecosystems at Creswell Crags and hunt for Minibeasts as you go! A member of the Outdoor Ranger team will introduce you to the Crags and the variety of habitats here that different insects call home. Discover the different ecological niches (decomposers, predators and pollinators) and the role the different insects play in the ecosystem. The Ranger will take you out and about in the meadow and will demonstrate how to use the nets in the long grass to carefully catch some minibeasts and how to look for signs of life in some of the hidden habitats. The Ranger will help you collect any insects found in our insect pots to identify the different species, before setting them free again. Every child will also get an ID guide to take home, so you can continue to look for the invertebrates in your own garden.
