On Saturday 27^th of October - right at the heart of spooky season - Visit Notts headed to the National Ice Centre to see if we could survive their Halloween Club Party.

The nights have drawn in and there’s a chill in the air that can only mean one thing, Autumn has come a’ knocking. Those chilly days won’t be going anywhere for quite some time, but even though we’ve now firmly entered colder climes, you can revel in the fact that with it comes indulgent food, and Bill’s latest launch of their Autumn menu certainly makes up for the fact that you’ll be nuzzling your nose into your scarf for the next four months.

Botttomless brunch is a pretty big thing in Nottingham right now; it offers all the fun of a big night out mixed with a lazy weekend breakfast and a chance to catch up with your pals. When we  heard about one of the latest brunch offers from the stylish St James Hotel, we couldn't wait to experience it. 

You do not need a ghoulish relish to wander around Church Cemetery, but a determination to get clued up about things not everybody knows. Stories hidden away, you might not even know where to look for. Stories of interesting people who are now silenced, but their voices are still alive through melodious epitaphs. The last time I went to the races was as a child with my family. I remember the hustle and bustle of it all, the suits, the bookies on their stalls, the thudding of hooves and asking my Dad if we could go right up to the track and watch the thoroughbreds sprint past the finishing post. It was quite the treat then, to make the trip to the Southwell Autumn Floodlit Flat Races - so I was delighted to be given the opportunity to visit again.
