With its grand pillars, retro signage and dramatic red exterior, 200 year old building of  the Nottingham Arts Theatre has always been an intriguing feature of Hockley’s George Street. A theatre for the past seventy years or so, NAT has seen a multitude of performances take place on its stage, and today the varied programme ranges from touring productions to pantomimes and opera.

As resident archaeologist for Nottingham City Council, Scott Lomax has been studying Nottingham’s unique cave system for nearly 10 years. Since 2008, the number of caves recorded under Nottingham has risen by nearly 300, and is quite likely to increase as the interest in this peculiar terrain grows.
