Talented duo produce song dedicated to Nottingham

Think of Nottingham and what jumps to mind... Nottingham Castle, Goose Fair, Robin Hood? Talented duo, Richard Williams and Brian Lund, seem to have captured almost every iconic attraction in Nottingham within their own song, “Nottingham Take me Back”. The song has so far been well-received, with live performances during The Big Busk, a two-page spread in Nottingham Post and played on BBC Radio Nottingham. With fame at their fingertips, Brian Lund took time out from his busy schedule to explain the steps taken to produce the catchy Nottingham song. Brian said... “It all started by accident, but Richard Williams and I are convinced we've put together a piece of music which should be a massive anthem for Nottingham. Originally, I wrote the song in half-an-hour back in March 2014 after a riff for the chorus was stuck in my head. In April, I played it at an open mic night and Richard said he’d like to record it. We were so pleased with the recording result; we decided to then produce a music video. Together with photographers, Rob Inglis and John Perring, we toured Nottingham in May and visited key attractions, and after five hours we had enough footage to create the video. Plus, it only felt right to include the legend that is Robin Hood, aka Ade Andrews, the face behind Ezekial Bone Tours of Nottingham, within the music video to add some local magic. We’re all newcomers to this! Richard has been in a band called The Forgeries for eight years but has never produced a record before, I've written songs but never got as far as publishing one, and this is Rob and John’s first music video. The words of the song incorporate iconic Nottingham themes and hopefully will resonate with anyone who lives or has lived here, anyone who’s visited the town, and anyone who has heard of Robin Hood. We reckon it’s the best Nottingham song ever!”
