1. Meet our Ancients – Guided Walk

Celebrate Sherwood Forest Day in the most appropriate place an get acquainted with the world-famous ancient oaks of the forest. Tree expert Rob Pedley will be taking you on a guided walk through one of the highest densities of ancient oaks in the world and tell you all about these impressive trees that provide vital habitat for an abundance of species and play a crucial role in supporting the health of the forest.
On this momentous day you can also check out RSPB Sherwood Forest’s walk with Robin Hood, to hear stories of his world renowned endeavours and the mysteries of Sherwood Forest or join the walk with Warden and learn all about how the forest has been used and managed for over 2 decades.
On this day, there will also be various proclamations taking place across Nottinghamshire, including the Sheriff’s Proclamation at the Robin Hood Statue, joined by none other than Ezekial Bone as Robin Hood.
2. Spring Lantern Workshop

Newark’s Garden of Light event is coming up and what better way to join in than to create your very own spring lantern this half term! This fun creative and free workshop is for all ages and the perfect opportunity for the community to get together, so don’t hesitate to get to work and let your hands do the talking – no experience required. As a little extra, you will be invited to show off your illuminated flower lantern inspired by spring, growth and renewal at the Bloom Parade, during Garden of Light on Saturday 7 March.

It might not be spring just yet, but luckily the gardens at Norwood Park are already showing the first signs of a blooming spring to look forward to. Explore the gardens Snowdrop Walk, delivered in partnership with the National Open Garden Scheme, and help raise money for some of the UK's best loved charities. After your walk, indulge on tea, coffee and delicious cake at the golf clubhouse – the perfect ending to a blooming gorgeous day!

5. The Nottingham 5K, 10K and Half Marathon Winter Warmer Run
