A tale as old as time has come to Nottingham with the stunning and hilarious new panto, Beauty and The Beast.

After being rescheduled to 2021, the tour finally reached Nottingham for its first night at the sold-out Motorpoint Arena Nottingham. The Visit Nottingham team was kindly invited down by Motorpoint Arena Nottingham to join an electric night of JLS’ greatest hits and the latest singles off their new album!

How do you get to Wonderland? You follow the rabbit, of course! But this Winter you can also find it in the Victoria Centre in the old Disney shop.

From start to finish this latest adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Mark Gatiss makes effort to invoke a truer version of the novel by Charles Dickens than most. The frightful story is brought to life with a mixture of practical and special effects to immerse you in a night of haunting and ghoulish horror as Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

For those of us who have grown up in and around Nottinghamshire, hearing about the tale and legend of Robin Hood is nothing new. Many of us take the story of Robin Hood and his connection to Nottingham and the wider region for granted, as part of the local furniture. We all know the stories (or at least so we think). Been there. Seen it. Done it. Got the green stockings.

After the stresses and strains of 2020, you’d be forgiven for feeling more scrooge than Santa’s elf this festive season. So, we headed to the brand-new socially-distanced illumination trail at Wollaton Hall to see if it would help us shake of the seasonal blues and embrace the Christmas spirit.
