This August my family and I were lucky enough to be invited for a day down on the farm by Manor Farm Park & Woodlands.

We arrived just as the farm park opened and were greeted by Sue and the team. We were given a map of the park, which was much bigger than I expected, 25 acres in fact, and a schedule of activities for the kids to enjoy throughout the day. Eager children, including my own toddler, Ella, were super excited and raring to get in, especially as they could all see the playground which was looming temptingly in sight.

Between work and everyday stresses, I rarely give myself time to indulge in a beauty treat. When I do, it usually consists of the occasional 15-minute face mask on a Sunday night. Admittingly, I’m a total spa novice but my Mum has me beat having never indulged before in a Spa day.

Blending opulence with modern simplicity, Merchant's Restaurant is the statement piece of the Lace Market Hotel, offering contemporary fine-dining and some deliciously creative dishes. Situated in an impressive Georgian building which was previously a doctors residence, the hotel has elegant period features such as original sash windows, fireplaces and a quirky layout. After being completely restored and modernised in recent years, both the Lace Market Hotel and the Merchants Restaurant are now full of artistic character and contemporary design.

I was vaguely regretting arranging to go ice skating, or rather TELLING the children that we would be going ice skating when they woke up at the crack of dawn to remind us that we were going. Next time I won’t be so silly! There will be a next time because to say the Tots Zone was a success, would be an understatement!
