Struggling to think of the perfect present? We all know some people are difficult to buy for, but many of Nottinghamshire's businesses are offering gift cards and vouchers - so you can treat your loved ones and support a local business through this difficult period. From spa days to family days out to delectable dining, there's sure to be something to appeal. Here are our suggestions:
There’s nothing like a spa day to soothe our stresses away, and if you’re looking forward to spending some quality time catching up with a loved one then this is the ideal way to do it. Why not purchase a voucher for the magnificent Eden Hall, plan some relaxing treatments at the Urban Rooms spa or look forward to your day at the stunning Ye Olde Bell?
Another thing we’ve been missing is that most quintessential of British traditions, Afternoon Tea. You could purchase a voucher for the famous Byron’s Brasserie Afternoon Tea, the elegant Josephine’s Tea Lounge and Bistro or the Lace Market's hidden gem Debbie Bryan - you’ll be eating dainty sandwiches and sipping tea from a china cup before you know it.
The coronavirus pandemic can be particularly frightening and confusing for little ones so buying a gift voucher with a promise to take them on an exciting day out can do wonders to raise their spirits. A voucher to visit Manor Farm Park and Woodlands, Sundown Adventureland or Robin Hood’s Wheelgate Park is sure to go down a treat, and is the perfect birthday gift.
We can’t go out and dine at our favourite restaurants right now, but it’s definitely something we’re all looking forward to. Why not purchase a voucher for the award-winning World Service, Hockley's gem the Larder on Goosegate or plant-based fine dining restaurant Alchemilla? Lovers of Indian food will be able to get their fix at Calcutta Club, whilst steak fans can rejoice in the knowledge that Son of Steak are offering gift vouchers too. You could even buy a voucher for Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, the oldest inn in England, or take your dining to the next level with a voucher for a luxurious meal at Restaurant Six at Trent Bridge (they also sell vouchers for the Trent Bridge Shop too).
Being shut indoors sure makes us look forwards to getting outside into the open air, and what better way to do that than with one of Nottinghamshire’s wild and wonderful adventure sports? You could book vouchers for experiences like paintballing and quads at Adrenalin Jungle, a Go Ape high ropes course, an exhilarating horse-ride with Derbyshire Pony Trekking or Coloured Cob Equestrian, or try go karting with Teamworks Karting.
Missing your mates? We know the feeling! Thankfully there are tons of fun activities you can plan with your pals as soon as the lockdown is over. You could bring all your friends together with a voucher for an escape room session at Escapologic, Logiclock or Cave Escape, try out a thrilling VR experience at Zero Latency, or perhaps treat yourselves to a good old game of adventure golf at Lost City Adventure Golf.
Lots of us have already had our holidays sadly cancelled for this summer, but having some time away to look forward to can do wonders for our state of mind. Why not purchase a gift voucher for a stay at the boutique Hart’s Hotel on the old ramparts of Nottingham Castle, the stylish St James Hotel or perhaps get away from it all with a woodland cabin break at Forest Holidays in Sherwood Forest?
Looking for something a little different? Hanwell Wine Estate offer a wide range of gift vouchers, including their famous vineyard experience (tour, talk and tasting), their shop and their arts and crafts workshops. Check out the full range here.
